El cantante y trovador cienfueguero Nelson Valdés presenta el videoclip de su versión al épico tema Girón: la Victoria (1973), inmortalizado por la irrepetible Sara González.
En entrevista con la Agencia Cubana de Noticias, el autor de Te doy otra canción, señaló que hacer el tercer tema de la trilogía Girón: Preludio (Silvio Rodríguez), La Batalla (Eduardo Ramos) y La Victoria (Sara González), fue un reto.
Versionar a Sara es muy complicado, por la fuerza, el empuje, y porque además no hay muchas versiones de su música en la historia. Precisamente porque es muy difícil. No es más que un homenaje para revivir esa canción y un acercamiento a las seis décadas de la batalla de Playa Girón.
Valdés, miembro de la Asociación Hermanos Saiz (AHS), e impulsor de las buenas iniciativas artísticas de la joven vanguardia desde su terruño, también quiere aclarar cierta laguna que existe en muchos al referir que las legendarias arenas siempre fueron matanceras.
En 1961, Girón pertenecía a la provincia de Cienfuegos, dijo, “el Batallón 339 y el 326 fueron los primeros en llegar y eran cienfuegueros. Así que la versión es también un homenaje a mis hombres y mujeres cienfuegueros que dieron sus vidas en ese primer momento de la historia”.
Señaló que la versión de “Girón: La Victoria, supone un reconocimiento a Sara González, que es una de las cantautoras más importantes dentro de la Revolución y de la gente que alzó su voz para defender la Patria”.
Justamente, el arreglo hecho por Luis Miguel Sánchez para el tema tuvo en cuenta muchos de los elementos y el espíritu con que Sara lo defendió en su momento.
La pieza musical forma parte de la banda sonora de la miniserie Nuestra Primera Victoria, producida por el Telecentro Perlavisión, y que transmite por estos días el Canal Educativo en ocasión de la efeméride de la primera derrota del imperialismo en América Latina.
Bajo la dirección de Jorge Luis Marí, el material de 10 capítulos se adentra en los hechos, y recoge el testimonio de combatientes, familiares de mártires y de testigos de aquellos sucesos que estremecieron a la nación cubana.
Vísperas del 8vo Congreso del PCC, la canción viene a traer la experiencia de lucha a la contemporaneidad. “Es el homenaje más digno que pudimos hacer”, enfatizó el cantautor.
