Don Lamb, Director for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, along with representatives from other state ag offices will travel to Cuba next week to address agricultural trade challenges.

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) CEO, along with representatives from NASDA members including Maine, Connecticut, Montana, South Carolina, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Indiana, will be in the country from Feb. 18-22, with a press conference scheduled for the 21st.

The goal of the visit is to identify and address trade barriers for U.S. agricultural products, gain a better understanding of trade rules and regulations as well as the political and economic environment in order to strengthen the United States’ trade relationship with Cuba.

While in-country, NASDA will meet with government officials, as well as industry and private sector leaders, to learn more about how the U.S. and Cuba can collaborate in the future.
